The Davis Deal
About
America’s favorite youngest child, Manhattan’s most notorious womanizer, and a highly publicized proposal. What could possibly go wrong?
Scarlett Davis loathes the limelight. Long labeled the least compelling sister of a popular reality show family, the diligent fashion designer hopes to be left alone to run her growing company in peace. But a mean girl rival’s attempt to steal a red carpet client has the sassy businesswoman scrambling to generate positive buzz…until she blurts out a fake engagement to her majorly famous best friend.
Rafael Sánchez has turned his back on love. Yet when the most important person in his life impulsively proclaims he’s her fiancé, he helps her save face in front of the cameras.
And as the retired soccer star attempts to sell the ruse while hiding the way the voluptuous blonde makes his blood sizzle, he worries they’re about to send both their reputations up in flames.
As Scarlett’s insecurities flare up under scrutiny from her glitterati peers, she can’t resist the temptation of a red-hot kiss. And when their pent-up attraction explodes into a scorching summer fling, Rafael can’t shake the fear he’s about to get burned.
Will they stage a quiet breakup, or can their chemistry carry them into a Hollywood-style happy ending?

Praise for this book
Best of 2025 - The Davis Deal by Jennifer Hayward - A single title debut and the second book in a series that started in Harlequin Presents, Hayward gives readers all the glitz, glamor and sizzle of a Presents with a kinder, gentler (yet still Alpha) hero and a dynamite friends-to-lovers trope. Football (soccer), reality TV and plenty of family drama baggage. I lapped this one up.
If you were a fan of Hayward’s HPs (and I was), The Davis Deal, self-published in this case, is HP-More, a longer, more developed, “unabashed” romance with two engaging leads, glamour galore, and the HP’s over-the-top, intense love scenes.
What I loved most was watching the fake relationship trope play out with their deep, pre-existing friendship. The tension is absolutely delicious! Every time Rafael had to "sell the ruse" while trying to ignore how much he wanted the gorgeous Scarlett—swoon! And when that pent-up attraction finally explodes? Hold onto your hats, because their scorching summer fling is seriously red-hot.
Omg! So good! So much drama but not the bad kind, the kind that keeps you wrapped up and not wanting to put it down! Love love love!!
OMG. So explosive!! Never saw that twist.
